Bombardier has reportedly held talks with the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China Ltd. (Comac) about a potential investment in the Montreal-based company’s commercial aerospace division.

According to a news report by the Financial Times, sources said Comac — China’s state-owned aerospace manufacturer — is working with at least one bank on a deal that could involve an investment in Bombardier’s commercial aerospace division, or a stake in its CSeries program.

A spokesperson for Bombardier said the company would not comment on market rumours or speculation.

Bombardier received $1 billion from the Quebec government for its CSeries program, and the federal government provided a $372.5 million loan towards development of its Global 7000 business aircraft program, as well as the CSeries program.

Earlier this month, Comac’s C919 completed its maiden flight in Shanghai. The aircraft is the first independently developed by China.

“This is not only a major historic breakthrough in China’s aviation industry, but also a significant achievement made by China in deeply implementing the strategy of driving development by innovation and comprehensively promoting the structural reform of the supply said,” Comac said of the maiden flight in a news release.

Bombardier has previously engaged in partnerships with the Chinese manufacturer.

In 2012, Bombardier announced it planned on strengthening its strategic partnership with the company with an agreement that involved collaboration on the development and customer operating efficiencies of the C919 and Bombardier’s CSeries.

Bombardier’s CSeries program is currently at the centre of what could be a major  trade dispute between Canada and the United States.

Last month, American aerospace giant Boeing filed a petition to the U.S. Department of Commerce seeking an anti-dumping, countervailing duty order against the sale of Bombardier’s CSeries aircraft. Boeing has alleged that Bombardier sold the jets to Delta at an “absurdly low” price, well below the cost of manufacturing the jet.

Bombardier lawyers were in a Washington, D.C. courtroom on Thursday, arguing against the petition and saying it was “unprecedented in its overreach.”

Sep. 20, 2015, the article <Israel to bring in 20,000 Chinese construction workers> reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday, Israel plans to bring in 20,000 Chinese construction workers to help build new apartments as part of efforts to lower housing costs. He said that Chinese's pace of work in building high-risers was 50 percent higher than that of Israelis, Palestinians and others.

Please Google my article <The speculators are destroying the foundation of Canadians survival>: “In the Era of agricultural economy, the geographic space is the living space. In the Era of market economy, the market space is the living space.”
The low productivity and high cost in goods manufacturing would certainly make Canadians lose living space due to that will be doomed fail in the market competing.
Canadians urgently need to explore a new way out from the way in self-destructing.
Only the government can improve the life of their citizen is a good government, only the people can hard work to make life-necessities is good people.
Legally encouraging their citizen to strike for more by doing less is in self destructing.
Please forget ideological, only concern how to avoid to be starve to die.
In struggling for survival by competitive manufacturing, Canada is no way out, besides carpool with China.

The Chinese got what they wanted out of the CSeries program in 2012 when Bombardier agreed to codevelop components.

All that ended up happening is Bombardier loosing intellectual property to spying.

En result is Bombardier created an other competitor who will end up buying Bombardier for next to nothing and the Government (federal and provincial) including the workers and tax payers will be left holding the bag..

Canadian citizens don't have the option of buying Chinese land or companies. All they want is the technology. Why do business with a government that state sponsors counterfeiting and stolen organ transplants? I couldn't even make this comment in China

With predatory actions from Boeing and the Chinese government, Bombardier Aerospace may become the A.V. Roe of the 21st century.

let's see, a Canadian company makes the most advanced jet liner on the planet, and your great idea is to make sure all that technolgy and expertise is handed over for a pittance? perhaps you haven't thought this through. Or is Canada really just a bunch of lumber and rocks to sell?
