Responsible for ensuring the Mayor and Councillors are supported through direction, supervision, and delegation of work to Mayor/Council office staff, you will keep Council informed on all matters affecting constituents; monitor trends arising through constituent concerns to identify developing issues in this regard, and areas where improvements may be needed; and project a positive public image through effective customer service. You will also liaise and provide strategic advice to Council on issues facing the City emanating from senior levels of government, and ensure Council has comprehensive information and supporting analysis including research to make positive contributions to community discussions and external networks on behalf of the City (Association of Municipalities of Ontario, Federation of Canadian Municipalities, Big City Mayors Caucus, etc.). A skilled leader, you have, at minimum, a three-year degree/diploma and at least four years' experience in a municipal or other elected office environment.

In the event there is no successful applicant with the stated level of education and experience, other applicants will be considered if a combination of their education and experience meets the following pre-determined equivalency: 2-years post-secondary education (2-year diploma program in specialized training) with minimum 7 years related experience, or a 4-year Honours Degree, with minimum 2 years related experience.
Salary: $62,183 to $77,733 annually (under review)
